The title Cliff’s Brink was inspired by a few things. There were some specific verses, some songs, and some ideas.

Cliff’s Brink captures the struggle of a decision. At the brink of the cliff our faith and our fear battle. We have come to a place where we are either going to turn around, or go forward. If we jump off, we are letting God have total control over where we’ll land.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7

“Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea
And a path through the mighty waters,” Isaiah 43:16

In every story I write, there is a specific Cliff’s Brink moment. Sometimes it is purely allegorical, or a mindset. Sometimes it is a literal cliff that the characters face. And sometimes the characters face both a physical and mental cliff’s brink.

I don’t know where writing is going to take me. I don’t know how many lives will be touched through my books. But I do know this, God knows. His plans are bigger, and far more complex than I could ever come up with. I’ve jumped off the cliff, and I can’t wait to see where I land.
